It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
